We all have these days when everything seems to be going against us. No matter what you try, it doesn’t work. You start feeling lethargic, slow… and all we wanna do is crawl into bed and do nothing.

Ok, so it does happen. And when it does – what can you do? How can you get motivated when you get stuck in a rut?

Only recently I hit such a time when I didn’t feel like doing anything. Day after day… I started falling behind with my work… My health and wellbeing suffered, too.

And though there is no magical pill that will snap you out of this place, there are certain steps to help you start getting back to your best self.

    Thanks, it made me so emotional, nearly cry… I have had to submit my assignment 3 weeks ago and I have not been in the right situation to do it,so whenever I start working on it, I fall sleep within less than 5 mins…
    I hate assignments and this is the very last one for my course.
    I still have no idea what to do coz even when I sit up straight to focus and study, seems nothing goes into my mind… It’s so important to hand in the assignment and that puts more and more paralysing pressure on me.
    Unlike most people, when I get stressed, I go on slow motion and everything takes dozen times more time than normal..

      Hey Marya.
      Try this thing..
      If you meditate – do it in this state, if not, just sit comfortable, in a quiet place, close your eyes and take a few deep breath.
      And imagine your worst case scenario. Imagine you do not deliver the assignments on time.
      How do you feel? How does the teacher react? What will the consequences be? Stay in this place so you get familiar with it.
      We fear the unknown… but you if you get familiar with what it would feel like if you didn’t deliver them – then you’ll feel more relaxed.
      Also see what could you do later. if you don’t deliver on time, and all those things happen, what can you do?
      Being prepared for the worst case scenario is very helpful in managing the situation.
      And finally… Imagine yourself 5 years from now: what are you doing, who are you with, who’s there with you, what you enjoy doing, what matters to you. Again spend there some time (5-10 min) to really anchor it. and then come back in your mind to the now. This helps us get perspective on things that stress us out, cause it really reminds us that’s not that important.
